Aluche Anatoria, (アルーシェ・アナトリア) or simply "Al," is the protagonist of Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon. She is a Holy Knight serving the Curia.

Appearance[]

Aluche has a fit yet slim physique. She had long brown hair and lime-green eyes as human, but as a half-demon, her hair is now dark crimson, and her left eye is electric-blue. After becoming a half-demon, her complexion became inordinately pale as well.

As for clothing, Aluche wears a simple white bow that keeps her hair held up. Just above her forehead is a headband with a small, unknown red-and-blue apparatus attached. She wears a thick, long crimson scarf around her neck, the ends coming down to nearly her feet in tatters. This scarf also bears a white four-leaf clover-shaped accessory positioned just under Aluche's face.

Aluche's white overshirt is long-sleeved but leaves much of her torso and chest uncovered. It sports a large collar that folds down and under a shoulder guard as it approaches from the left side, in addition to large brown cuffs extending from the upper end of the sleeves. The undershirt is similarly white but instead made from a flexible fabric and presented as a band covering Aluche's bust with similar functionality to a bra.

Aluche has several plates of armor protecting her arms, mostly centralized around her left elbow. Beneath this armor are two matching black-and-red, fingerless long gloves.

Aluche's white girdle is adorned with a plain brown belt with a simple bronze buckle, a pair of detached cross-shaped metal accessories at the forefront, and a small supply pouch on her right hip flanking a monocular on her left side. The rims of the lower-front of the girdle are plated in a gold finish and the upper ends flip up and over to cover her waist. Just beneath the girdle is a tiny, frilly miniskirt, and below that is a single garter wrapped around only Aluche's left thigh, on which rests a sheathed dagger. The entire unit is supported by a pair of brown suspenders, the upper-left of which bears a badge showing Aluche's status as a Holy Knight.

Aluche's legs are covered by mismatched socks, one of which is a thin, black thigh-high legging decorated with a light-gray floral design and the other a scarlet knee-high wool tube sock. Insofar as shoes are concerned, Aluche wears knee-high boots that split open slightly in the front, laden with gold bands.

Personality[]

Aluche is air-headed and rashly brave, and this is often not without consequences. Her loyalty to her friends is palpable, and extends to the point that she is willing to sacrifice herself for the sake of others. Furthermore, she is kind-hearted, easygoing, and surprisingly socially adept in lieu of her worldliness or otherwise well-defined charisma. In other words, there seems to simply be an air of attractiveness and trustworthiness about Aluche, and several characters make verbal note of this.

History[]

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow. Read at your own discretion.

Aluche studied to become an agent of the Curia at Espheria Imperial Academy together with Liliana Selphin and Ruenheid Ariarhod. Some time after graduating, she became a Holy Knight tasked to escort Liliana, the Bride of Time. During a mission to escort Liliana, Aluche was impaled directly through her heart and slain by Malvasia, the Moon Queen. Aluche was hastily revived as an artificial half-demon by Camilla Alucard by using the blood of the legendary Arnice as well as parts of Camilla's own organic heart. While she did gain immense power from her resurrection, her death nonetheless imposed great restraints on her body, causing her to only be able to battle for short periods of time. Nevertheless, this did not stop Aluche from trying to achieve her goal of saving the world from the Moon Queen without having to sacrifice Liliana.

Relationships[]

  • Liliana - Aluche was childhood friends with Liliana along with Ruenheid and promised that they'd remain friends no matter how far apart they became. Aluche treats Liliana as a close friend from the moment they meet, and is firmly against her being sacrificed. The two are particularly close to each other, and openly share feelings for one another by stating that they both want to spend the rest of their lives together.
  • Ruenheid - Aluche was childhood friends with Ruenheid along with Liliana and promised that they would always remain friends. Ruenheid is often hesitant to open her heart to Aluche but it is clear that she cares deeply for her.
  • Camilla - Camilla feels very proud of Aluche, often calling her "masterpiece" or her "biggest success," and states that she intends to treat her as such. She acts as a caretaker toward Aluche, making sure she is not overexerting herself along with doing regular checkups on Aluche's weak heart. The pair discuss their respective pasts together ask about their feelings as they get to know each other better. Camilla eventually praises Aluche for her humanity despite bearing Blue Blood, her reliability, and for being overall lovable.
  • Muveil - Aluche used to look up to Muveil as an older sister during their Academy days and she always wanted to surpass her. As Aluche herself states that "you were everything I wanted to be." During the events of Nights of Azure 2, Muveil tempts Aluche into falling into darkness, as she knows the pain of living as a Half-Demon. However, Aluche remains steadfast and pulls Muveil out of her delusion, bringing her back into the light. Though she is a full-blooded Demon now, she retains her trust in Aluche, admires her courage, and is ready to protect her with her life.
  • Veruschka - Initially, due to her hatred for Demons, Veruschka fights Aluche, who upon winning the battle sucks the Blue Blood out of her to save her. Aluche later teaches Veruschka to see worth in herself and accepts her into her circle of friends. The two get along increasingly well with time, to the point that, once Loergwlith reveals to her the dark fate that awaits Aluche, Veruschka feels overwhelmed, as she cannot fathom a future without her.
  • Eleanor - As a fellow chocolate-lover, Aluche is always happy to aid Eleanor in battle and find all the ingredients she needs. When Eleanor finally made the Ultimate Chocolate, she decided to give it to Alcuhe for Valentine's Day. She also sells Aluche wares at Hotel Eterna.
  • Malvasia - Malvasia is often happy to see Aluche, and talks to her as if she's her late lover Alstromeria, even referring to her as such at the beginning of the final fight. Despite this, the two are on hostile terms from the moment they meet until their final parting, with the sweet words from Malvasia likely being mere fragments of her memories of happier days.
  • Alstromeria - Though they met only briefly, Aluche encountered Alstromeria on the Wandering Ark—or at least, a shadow bearing her visage. This shadow Fiend attempted to lash out at Aluche, but ultimately ended up shedding more light on her relationship with Malvasia in the past.
  • Arnice - Aluche saves Arnice from her rampaging state, and she is therefore eternally grateful for it. As a fellow fiend hunter, Arnice feels a sense of camaraderie between them, and is able to openly talk to Aluche about her history with the Moon Queen.

Trivia[]

  • Like Arnice, Aluche absolutely loves the taste of chocolate. It may be a running joke that half-demon protagonists of the series all share this in common, as they can be seen bonding over this shared trait in-game.
  • Again similarly to Arnice, Aluche is implied to have had multiple love interests throughout her life rather than a "one true love" approach being taken with her character. Unlike Arnice, however, Aluche can have feelings for different girls throughout the main story rather than only in flashbacks. Regardless, both end up with a specific partner in the end.
  • It is possible that Aluche is a reincarnation of Alstromeria due to their striking similarities, but this is only ever implied.
  • Muveil states that Aluche used to have "endlessly bad" grades during their academy days. She had the lowest score on the entrance exam and the only person to fail, but Muveil used her power as the president of the student council to let Aluche in.
  • When the capital was being moved, Aluche, Liliana, and Ruenheid were given the opportunity to change school. Although Liliana and Ruenheid could afford it, they decided to stay in the same Academy as Aluche's since she could not.
